How to Make Delicious Poutine at Home

Canada's go to fast food, poutine, is on the rise. But as it’s not readily available in much of the UK, why not have a go at making some yourself at home. It's quick, easy and can be varied to suit all sorts of tastes!
Original Poutine

To make poutine at home start by making your own chunky chips in a deep fat fryer, if you’re lucky enough to own one, or in the oven. For oven chips par boil potatoes for five to ten mintues while heating oil in a baking tray in the oven. Drain the potatoes, add seasoning and bake in the hot oil for 30/40 minutes. Then top with homemade or premade gravy, mozzarella and halloumi- yum!

Meatilicious: For meat lovers, try topping your chips and gravy with some steak slices, red onion and stilton.

Welshie (v): Add curry sauce to your chips and cheese of your choice- lush!

Greek Style (v): Top chips with roasted mediterraean veggies, feta and a dollop of tzatziki.

By the Seaside: For a more balanced poutine dish add crayfish, sourcream, salad salsa and cheddar cheese to your chips.
