MADE Festival returns to Digbeth this weekend and is sure to provide a distinctive festival atmosphere. After its successful debut last year the weekender was nominated for Best Metropolitan Festival and is offering an even broader festival experience this July 25th and 26th. It seem’s headliner MK agrees praising MADE's authenticity;
"(MADE has) Such an organic vibe to it, I sometimes wish that more promoters from the US would come here to experience what a great time it is”
Firstly for a festival whose tickets are £40 (and that’s just fourth release, first release came in at just £20) it boasts a stellar line up for a slashed price. Major acts to look out for on Saturday include MK, Blonde, Wilkinson, Heidi, Julio Bashmore, Beardyman, Norman Jay and many more across six stages in the heart of Birmingham’s underground wonderland- Digbeth. Daytime acts run from midday to midnight but if that isn’t enough for you, you can head to the MADE My Night afterparty and see the likes of Defected’s Sonny Fodera, Doorly, Claude Von Stroke and Birmigham’s very own Seedy Sonics DJs.

Secondly, if dancing into the early hours isn’t your thing, why not head down to MADE on Sunday to enjoy a day of street food and craft beer and ale. Digbeth Dining Club host the Sunday event and with entry costing just £5 (proceeds of which go to local charities) it is sure to add a diverse element to the event. Food vendors include Canoodle, Esme’s, Buddha Belly, Habanero and Platinum Pancakes.
“Digbeth Dining club is one of the UK’s most established and respected street food events, and working together with them, alongside a number of the city’s most talent independent creatives, we have put together something very different for the second day of the festival.”
Pete Jordan- MADE festival director
Finally, if all that doesn’t convince you, alongside food and drink on Sunday you can also see live street art from City Of Colour, live music and spoken word, retro gaming and live comedy from Cheeky Monkey comedy club.
It’s not often you find so much crammed into such a short space of time but MADE has managed to do just that. The best thing about the festival is it’s holistic feel. In a city so large, MADE’s focus on the local community is a refreshing change from your huge, corporate festivals designed to make as much money as possible. The Rainbow Venues always manage to deliver a feel good, friendly vibe alongside the madness and I for one can’t wait to get down there and get grooving!
