Gig Review: W H Lung @ Green Man

Festivals are a fantastic place for a band to expand their fanbase, and after their memorable set on Friday at the Green Man Far Out stage, it's clear that Manchester experimental rockers W H Lung gained many new fans!
Formed in mid-2016, and only beginning to play live shows in May of 2017, the band has already booked multiple major festivals; and their live performance shows why. Despite not having been playing live as a group for very long, they are able to fill the stage with their presence. Their particular brand of psychedelic music was a hit with the crowd, who were pulled in by the tension of the ambient moments, and swayed to the sound of the emotional vocalist.
An aside for the vocalist of W H Lung; nice moves! Perhaps the most memorable part of the set, the charisma of the band was fronted by some fantastic dancing from their singer. As he expressed himself through movement, the other members of the band were intensely focussed on their instruments. A particular highlight was their use of synth to create a distinctly 80s-inspired sound.
The true test of a band often comes down to how they entice an audience when live, and W H Lung’s performance at Green Man 2017 certainly proved they’re ones to watch!
