Gig Review: Ardyn, The Louisiana, Bristol
Jack Page | 21st November 2016
A cold November night made for a great setting as Ardyn took on the narrow space of The Louisiana, as part of their first ever headline tour!
From the outset you got a sense of the intimacy which was to come. Kicking off with 'Universe' from their debut E.P, they managed to warm the room up well (Thank God, it was bloody freezing outside). There were nerves, as you'd expect, it's their first headline tour.
With a couple of technical hitches for the next couple of tracks, you'd think it would slow the band down. No, not Ardyn. They battled through and came out victoriously on the otherside with a great rendition of the popular 'Help me on my way'.
They flowed through each track smoothly and intently, with Rob's fluid riffs, held together by Katy's emphatic vocals, it was really a joy to watch. As a relatively new band, it's great to know that these guys are only going to get better and better. As they continue to tour, I expect their fanbase will only continue to get larger and stronger, and so it should.
Closing with the smooth transition from 'The Garden' to 'Over the River', the crowd wanted more and so did I.
If you get the chance, make sure to check them out at their final show of the tour at the St Pancras Old Church, London, on the 1st of December. It's a great night! The lovely video for their latest E.P. title track, 'The Valley', is below
