Hitting shelves both digital and physical on August 7th is Frank Turner’s 6th studio album, ‘Positive Songs for Negative People’, following the success of his 2013 album ‘Tape Deck Heart’.
Steadily moving away from his punk/folk roots of his earlier albums Frank is confidently striding into a softer sound; in his own words he said:
“Positive Songs For Negative People is a record about defiance, about picking yourself up when you’re down, and the title reflects that.”
Since this announcement two tracks have been previewed, ‘Mittens’ which tells the story of a tragically one-sided relationship, whilst ‘The Next Storm’ is about dusting yourself off and searching for the good things in life again.
Now obviously my one line description can’t do these songs any justice, but rest assured, Frank Turner is once again an emotional powerhouse, conveying deep and genuinely emotional music which you can’t help but bounce to. I know that I for one will be seeing him on this album’s tour, and I think you should too… Because after seeing him a modest three times the shows just get better and better.
