Summer’s over and so is Festival season. So naturally it’s difficult to find something to be excited about, isn't it? Wrong! There’s a whole bunch of things to be excited about. Most importantly, all your favourite bands are probably touring again during the autumn and winter months.

Like every festival season, a bunch of bands/artists find themselves elevated into a whole new world of attention. There’s a few bands we’ve noticed jumping onto the scene over the summer and one in particular is The Big Moon. An exciting quartet straight outta London, with all the things you try to look for in a new band. A unique sound, good attitude and a load of energy. The group seem to be going about it all in their own unique and quirky way.

They first received a surge of attention for their debut single ‘Sucker’ and have capitalised on this by releasing two other fab tracks, ‘Eureka Moment’ and most recently ‘The Road’. The alt-rock kids will find comfort in the way the group are still under much of the industry’s radar. But alas indie cindies, they’re bound to blow up sooner or later so you better be prepared. After playing great sets at a handful of festivals this summer, most notably the introducing stage at Reading and Leeds, more and more fans will catch on to the buzz.

Their songs have a great blend of catchy riffs and unpredictability. If you’re like me and you tend to look out for a bit of intricacy lyrically then you’ll be more than content with what’s being showcased on their first three singles. Having produced all their own tracks, you’re able to enjoy the raw energy that comes with new bands.

With a debut album in the works and more and more gigs being announced, the girls will only find themselves gaining a larger fan base and more critical acclaim. If you’re a fan of The Big Moon’s sound then great, it means you can catch them on the upcoming DIY NEU tour along with Vant and INHEAVEN. You can also see them as they support Ezra Thurman and The Vaccines this Autumn.
