It’s been a while since we were treated to the folky soothing sounds of Laura Gibson, and with good reason. Creating anything proved impossible after her whole world was torn apart by a gas explosion. Luckily, Gibson wasn't actually at her New York home at the time. Everything she possessed was destroyed in the apartment, killing 2 and injuring others.
It’s crazy to think she’s been able to bounce back in the way she has, when you take into account the great sound she’s achieved after the destruction that ensued. After her last, critically acclaimed album, 'La Grande', it's safe to say we can expect another great piece of work.
Her latest release ‘The Cause’, from her upcoming album ‘Empire Building’ is strikingly elegant with a lovely rolling bass line strolling through the single. The relaxing track gets you thinking, and with her backstory added, it just adds to the whole ordeal. Fancy a listen? It's down below...

With the new album on the way, a tour is usually needed, and Gibson hasn’t left us hanging, thank goodness. She’s just announced a number of European tour dates with a couple of UK shows.
