Featured Artist: Daniel Wilson

He enthuses the gospel music from his upbringing with a pop style that oozes soul and emotion to create some of the best soul tracks I have heard in a long time.
When I first came across Danel Wilson I couldn’t help but feel a certain Sam Smith vibe with his distinct voice and tone but Wilson takes it to another level with the carefully chosen production techniques complimenting his vocals immensely.
Wilson brings so much of himself into every track, really pushing a story of knowledge and pain together which makes for a unique experience in an age of over produced tracks and egotistical lifestyle that may come with such a talent. Wilson is a well grounded artist simply looking for his art to be consumed by as many as possible.
Wilson’s latest single, ‘Sinner of the Week’, blends his pop past with his current soul flare that’s sure to brighten the darkest of days. It combines drum patterns and synth sounds we’re used to hearing on a disclosure record into an alluring melody. Speaking of which, Wilson is not a lone wolf in his process as he has worked alongside producers Matt Hales (Disclosure), Jimmy Harry (Madonna), and Jimmy Hogarth (Sia), to give an additional pop of colour to his stripped back vocals.
I am really excited to hear more of Wilson in the future, I can imagine he has some brilliant collaborations lined up, keep a look out.
