The Best Bake Off Moments

In honour of the return of the Great British Bake Off to our screens, here’s a collection of some of the most memorable moments and characters of the show so far.
2. Rob’s crusty (and bizarre) tribute to the late Paul, the octopus apparently capable of predicting World Cup results. (Season 4)
3. Season 5’s Martha. A hero of our time, seventeen year old Martha juggled competing in Bake Off with studying for her A levels. Inspirational.
4. Bingate. Season five took a dramatic turn when Ian’s baked Alaska was removed from the freezer by another contestant and turned into a melted mess, resulting in his presenting Paul and Mary with a rubbish bin.
5. Lastly, there’s Wednesday night’s cakey disaster. Dorret’s Black Forest Gateaux collapsed into a pile of chocolatey sludge as the nation fought back tears. I leave you with her haunting words –‘It’s not just a cake.’
